Bjørg Plougmand
Bjørg works with adults, adolescents, and their families in Danish and English. She has a client centered approach and believes that we are all unique individuals, with different backgrounds, perspectives, values, strengths and coping strategies. This is taken into consideration, so that the sessions will be tailored to each client. Bjørg believes that self-care and self-compassion are important parts in achieving emotional wellbeing.
Importance is put on the therapeutic alliance, collaboration, and on creating a safe and non-judgmental environment in sessions. Clients of all cultures, values, beliefs and sexual orientations are welcome and equally cared for.
Originally from Denmark Bjørg (pronounced Biörk) has worked and lived in 4 different countries for more than two decades, and her children are raised as third culture kids. This has given her an insight in and understanding of different cultures.
Before pursuing the mental health industry Bjørg was educated and worked in the medical industry in addition to working in the corporate and public sector. She has also volunteered at an International lifeline for a total of 5 years.
Bjørg holds a Master in Counselling, Monash University and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy, The School of Positive Psychology.
She is registered with Singapore Association for Counselling as a clinical member (CMSAC) and the Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors Singapore, MAPACS (L3).
